GRAND CAYMAN

Who doesn’t love a good Caribbean vacation?!

At 25, I’m extremely blessed and forever grateful that my parents still want (and pay for) me to tag along on family vacations.

I’ve been to a lot of beautiful places in my life, but Grand Cayman was up there as one of my favorites. Although, maybe that’s just because, in the real world, vacations are a godsend.

Catch me OOO.

421 PINE

I finished putting the final touches on my apartment just in time to move out at the end of the month (insert eye roll).

About a year ago, I moved out of my parent’s house (goodbye free rent) and into my own little area of the world.

I’d like to give a personal shout out to Ikea, HomeGoods, Marshalls, TJ Max, and, of course, Target who have opened their doors to me just about every weekend.

It took me a while (and my entire life’s savings) to get my place to where it is now, but I’m extremely proud to finally call this place home.

(WO)MAN'S BEST FRIEND

IMG_1280.JPG

First step in becoming a famous blogger: get a blog.

Second step in becoming a famous blogger: maintain said blog.

...

Oops.

A lot has happened, a lot to catch you up on, so here goes nothing.

In the past year...

  • I got a new job

  • I moved into my very own big girl apartment in Philadelphia and then spent my entire life's savings furnishing and decorating

  • My parents bought a shore house
  • I escaped a burning building

  • I marked one year with my dog child

  • I trained for and ran my fourth full marathon (fyi that's 26.2 miles)
  • I attended my very first NFL game

  • I watched the Eagles win the Super Bowl and then celebrated with 2 million of my closest friends

  • I traveled to Los Angeles to lead my very first social media photoshoot

  • I saw Villanova bring yet another championship back to the city of Philadelphia

  • I turned 25 and then witnessed an armed robbery

  • I went on "Spring Break" with the family to Grand Cayman (blog to come)

  • I celebrated one year with my boyfriend Mike and then signed a lease with him (we move June 29th)

  • I ran Broad Street and then two weeks later completed my second Tough Mudder

  • I joined a book club (shout out Taylor Garrett)
  • I got my website back up and running

  • and, I survived my first year as an independent adult and am THRIVING

Life has been good to me, but I've busted my ass off for it, and it most certainly hasn't been easy. I've learned a lot, cried a lot, and have experienced a record number of anxiety attacks.

Through it all, I am blessed to have had my family, my boyfriend, my friends, the gym, and most importantly, my dog.

WICKED GOOD WEEKEND

Mike and I took a mini vacay to Portland, ME to visit my best friend of 13 years. On our trek up, we thought it would be fun to spend a night in Boston. And, let me tell ya, I loved it so much, I was ready to pack my bags...Mike had to talk me off the ledge. But, in all seriousness, this may have been one of my favorite trips of all time. We jam packed a crazy amount of activities (and driving) into a short 4 days, but it was totally worth it. Now, as Mike says, we're homebound for the next few weeks (minus the shore, of course).

NEW YORK, NY

Took a quick weekend getaway to the Big Apple with my man crush (aka my boyfriend), which is just code for saying that I basically spent an entire month's budget on food, drinks, and Ubers. Hey, go big or go home, right?

My new fav NYC eatz:

  • Parker and Quinn - the Acai Bowl and Crabcake Eggs Benedict were to die for!

  • Boca di Baco - the Bruschetta Ai Funghi (Mushroom Bruschetta) and Fusilli Alla Norcia (Sweet and Hot Sausage in a delicious Pink Sauce) were great, but ginormous...we ordered way too much food!

  • Bierhaus - the Hefe Weizen may just be the best beer I've ever had.
